HappiTea,the international beverage brand from Vietnam’s Phúc Tea, is accelerating its expansion in India through a franchise-driven growth strategy. The brand entered the Indian market in early 2025 and launched its first outlets in Hyderabad in April 2026.

The bubble tea and specialty tea chain has already signed more than 35 franchise outlets across eight states and is aiming to expand its network to over 150 stores nationwide in 2026. Its growth in India is being driven through a master franchise partnership with Franchise India (FranGlobal), while regional master franchise and area developer opportunities are being rolled out across multiple markets.

Industry data highlights the opportunity within the tea and specialty beverage market. According to IMARC, the Indian tea market grew from $11.86 billion in 2025 to $12.20 billion in 2026 and is expected to reach $15.44 billion by 2034, growing at a compound annual growth rate of 2.98 percent between 2026 and 2034. Black tea accounted for a 68 percent market share in 2025.

Consumer preferences are also shifting toward premium and health-focused beverage options. Green tea, herbal infusions, and specialty tea products are gaining traction among health-conscious consumers and urban millennials. Separately, an Economic Times report noted that India’s specialty tea market has grown threefold over the past five years to reach Rs. 1,000 crore.

The market is also attracting a growing number of international food and beverage brands that are entering through franchise partnerships, particularly across quick service restaurants, coffee chains, bubble tea brands and specialty beverage formats.

With its planned rollout across multiple states, HappiTea is looking to strengthen its presence in India’s evolving café, tea retail and specialty beverage landscape.
